Noble Midstream Partners is a growth-oriented master limited partnership formed by Noble Energy to own, operate, develop and acquire midstream infrastructure assets. Our assets reside in two of the most resilient oil basins in the United States: the DJ Basin in Colorado and the Delaware Basin in Texas. In these areas, we provide crude oil, natural gas and water-related midstream services for Noble Energy and third parties. The successful individual will oversee automation projects and provide engineering support for on-going operations. Oversees evaluation of appropriate options and makes recommendations that meet the Business Unit needs and development strategies. Is responsible for the timely and on-budget completion of these projects. Coordinates work with other departments (e.g. EH&S;, Regulatory, Marketing) in order to coordinate all aspects for their successful execution. Provides on-going technical engineering support for trouble shooting, optimization and identification of de-bottlenecking opportunities within the existing assets. Oversees selection of 3rd party engineering and construction firms that will be required to leverage their ability to provide complete project management services for the wide and diverse facility portfolio. Proactively implements all facilities projects with risk assessments and process safety management as a top priority.

Detailed Description

  • Capable of assisting multiple small to large and complex projects for Capital and Operations business units.
  • Assists in the automation design of midstream facilities and continues the development of a comprehensive automation system.
  • Verification and validation of engineered system (hardware and/or software) to specifications
  • Potential for all aspects of control system execution, from hardware design, system design, network design, software development (PLC and/or PC related systems), communications, I/O checkout, system commissioning, and facility acceptance.
  • Prepares necessary design drawings and construction documents (General arrangement, Area Classification, Grounding, Single/Three-line Diagrams,, Load Lists, Cable/Conduit Schedule, Arc Flash/Coordination/Load Flow Study), Loop Diagrams, I/O Lists, Instrument Databases, OEM/3rd Party Integration Schematics, P&IDs;, As-Builts.)
  • Is fully competent in standard techniques, procedures and criteria used in carrying out a sequence of engineering tasks. Under general supervision, performs all aspects of work applying new information and concepts.
  • Provides technical support for the design of oil, gas and produced water handling facilities, including low pressure gathering systems, compressor stations, high-pressure pipelines and treating facilities (dehydration, sweetening, NGLs, LNG, other cryogenic processing), evaporative ponds, water treating systems, and SWD plants.
  • Full understanding of company policies, procedures and guidelines for process safety management and engineering design
  • Performs E⁣/Automation tasks for Pre-Start Safety Review (PSSRs), Process Hazard Assessments (PHAs), and Management of Change (MOCs) processes.
  • Basic understanding of business needs and aligning facilities projects with those needs.
  • Provide Technical Direction for other Engineers, Maintenance and Operations Personnel
Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering
  • Typically requires 5 years of oil and gas industry related experience
  • PLC programming experience with: Rockwell/Allen-Bradley (ControlLogix & CompactLogix)
  • HMI/SCADA programming, trend logging, and alarm handling experience with: Wonderware, ClearSCADA, FT SE/ME PlantPAX
  • Other software experience: OSIPI, Kepware, FlowX
  • Commissioning of network and communication infrastructures
  • Networking using Ethernet, EtherNet/IP, ModBus and other industrial protocols
  • Complex troubleshooting and decision making ability
