Responsibilities

Assists in the proper operation of all physical space to include auxiliary equipment such as HVAC. Responds to request for heating/cooling adjustments. Performs repairs and installations on cabinets, laminate, and furnishings. Patch and paint walls, repair wallpaper, hang items on walls. Troubleshoots and make minor adjustments to basic television problems. Completes parts and material runs. Assists in proper operation of all physical plant equipment to include auxiliary equipment such as fans, pumps, air handling and medical gas systems, in preventive maintenance and repair on equipment of systems throughout the hospital, i.e., sterilizers, kitchen equipment, laundry equipment and refrigeration equipment. Troubleshoot, maintain, and repair nurse call systems, electric beds, televisions and other patient related equipment. Assists in maintenance and testing of emergency generators, when applicable, responding to trouble calls for all clinic buildings, i.e., plumbing, electrical, etc. Respond to trouble calls from all hospital departments i.e., plumbing, electrical, etc. Knowledge of tools and/or instrumentation used for troubleshooting and repair preferred. Performs other duties as assigned. Performs preventative maintenance on non-medical equipment such as air handling units, dish machine and exhaust fans. Install, maintain, and operate boiler, pumps, compressors, air handling equipment and refrigeration systems. Performs repairs on non-medical equipment, i.e., dietary, environmental services, beds, lighting and HVAC systems Restart and shut down chillers and boilers. Responsible for implementation and coordination of fire drills. Is a member of CMH fire response team.

Qualifications

High School Diploma or equivalent (GED) required. Current valid Driver’s License required.

Minimum of seven (7) years general maintenance experience working with electrical, plumbing,

and/or mechanical equipment required. Minimum of four (4) years hospital maintenance experience required. Strong HVAC and electrical background and current knowledge of local, state and federal codes and regulations required. Previous experience with construction management, Fire/Life Safety systems and BMS/EMS and ability to read plans and blueprints Journeyman Electricians License, Certified Fire Alarm Technician, Refrigeration Recovery License, Building Management System Certification, Associates Degree in Electronics or Engineering preferred.
